
Education is an important aspect of overall quality of life in our community. Today, our children need the best education available. The skills they learn early on form the foundation for continued learning in the future and ultimately, their future in this ever changing, fast paced high tech world. These skill must enable them for a promising future whether they choose local, national or international employment. Area educators strive to improve the future for our children by providing high quality education.
Franklin County offers a fine educational program encompassing two outstanding public school systems, Franklin County Schools and Russellville City Schools. These school systems administer a variety of programs, including Head Start, kindergarten, elementary, secondary and vocational training. All students are offered the opportunity to obtain this education in a safe and supportive environment.
Each school maintains a high standard of excellence in teaching, academics, athletics and other extracurricular activities such as music, drama and art.
When students choose to continue their education, they may decide to attend Northwest Shoals Community College, the only fully accredited community college in Northwest Alabama. Campuses are located in Phil Campbell and Muscle Shoals. For students moving on to a four year degree, The University of North Alabama is only thirty minutes away. Numerous programs are available for obtaining bachelor, masters and doctorate degrees. |
