Welcome to Franklin County Alabama
If you're looking for a comfortable, safe and affordable place to live, Franklin County may be the place for you. We have much to offer.
Franklin County has skilled labor, strong educational institutions, quality life styles, health care facilities, business and industrial sites, municipal airports, competitive energy costs and supportive local governments. Franklin County and city schools rank among the highest in the state and we were first in the state to host a public junior college, Northwest Shoals Community College. We have excellent medical facilities and physicians. And some of the friendliest people in the world are from Franklin County!
What Does the Chamber Do?
The Chamber provides many services to our community
including business referrals, Small Business Association, exposure through
advertising and newsletters, proposal listings, educational opportunities,
legislative news, and economic materials. Along with the Economic
Development Authority, we sponsor and annual countywide Awards and
Appreciation banquet for all Chamber members, business and industry. We
sponsor the Franklin County Junior Leadership program for all high school
juniors in our county. We enjoy doing Easter Egg hunts each Easter for our
little ones in Russellville and Red Bay. The Chamber always has a presence
at The Relay for Life an conducts at least one annual county wide
anti-litter campaign. Each year we give two $500.00 scholarships to a
Franklin County graduate in memory of Jim Webb or Russellville and Matt
Hester of Red Bay. Just recently, we have published a Franklin County
Guide that we distribute to both local citizens and also to visitors from
all over the country. In this Guide, all chamber members are offered the
opportunity to advertise and all are listed with their contact
information. This is especially popular for folks moving into out area who
are seeking out what is available in Franklin County. If you join the
Chamber, we will insert your information in our existing Chamber Guides.
The Chamber is also involved with the Founders Fest in Red Bay and the Hoe
Down Festival in Phil Campbell. We assist with Farm Days for school
children at Johnny Mac Morrows farms. Last but not least, the Chamber
sponsors the extremely popular Watermelon Festival. This festival brings
thousands of visitors to our area each year along with many activities
such as the Watermelon Beauty pageant, the Billboard contest, local talent
in the historic, air-conditioned Roxy Theatre, and free outdoor concerts.
This year we are especially proud to be offered guest star Zac Hacker and
Shenandoah as part of our free festival entertainment. As you can see the
Chamber is a busy place and hopefully you feel we are an important asset
to our community.

High quality of
life.
Strong family values, like they used to be, lends to the high quality of
life in Franklin County. Crime is almost nonexistent. And there's a church
nearby no matter where you live. Families cheer together as local kids play
little league ball or on Friday night's during football season.
Franklin
County has award winning bass fishing
lakes, with largemouth bass over
15
pounds. Boating, water skiing and camping? We have that too. Nature lovers,
come explore one of the many beautiful canyons we have to offer, or take a
hike on a Sierra Club trail. Franklin County also has thousands of acres of
wild game hunting, if that's your bag.
|
With over 700 acres developed for industry, Franklin County has nearly 70 industrial firms located in industrial parks in Russellville, Red Bay, Phil Campbell and Vina.
Take your time to explore our web site and see what we have to offer. Then come to visit us. Pretty soon we'll be calling you by name and hopefully, you'll be calling us "home".
