Phil Campbell
Every summer Phil Campbell hosts an annual celebration, The Downtown Hoedown (formerly Phil Campbell Day), During this celebration there are carnival rides, car shows, and art-and-crafts items for sale. Local Bands and singers perform during the evening.
Red Bay
Red Bay, a small Franklin County town, celebrates its history during the Founder's Fest in September. The event is popular among those who crave a family type atmosphere and a lot of fun. Russellville
Downtown Russellville is home of the Franklin County Watermelon Festival each August. It's a time for a lot of good fun and of course, juicy watermelons that can cool a hot sumer day in the south. The festival is in its 30th year and the carnival-type atmosphere has become a must-do event for thousands. There's plenty of music, a car and truck show, activites for children and competitions, including a watermelon seed-spitting contest. Contact: 256.332.1760
Hodges
The Spirit of Hodges Festival is held every October to celebrate the town's affiliation with a World War II plane. The town was awarded naming rights to the plane for selling the most war time bonds. Contact: 205.395.3445
Vina
The Town of Vina hosts a July Fest every year in late July. The event includes a variety of vendors. The event concludes with a fireworks display. Contact Tina Lawler at 205-935-3251 for more information.
